The Indian Super League (ISL) clubs have been active in the transfer market. As the season approached, clubs started to make huge changes in their squad and we witnessed some amazing new signings for the clubs. Here’s a look at the top 5 signings by ISL teams in 2020-21 season.

  1. Gary Hooper

Team: Kerala Blasters FC

Signing amount: Rs.9.99 cr.

Kerala blasters signed former Norwich City forward Gary Hooper. Hooper has featured in the Champions League and the Europa League. The English striker joins Kerala Blasters for the 2020-21 ISL season from the Australian club Wellington Phoenix. Hooper scored eight goals and 5 assists in 21 appearances in the A-League last season.

The English forward will replace the all-time top scorer of Kerala Blasters FC Bartholomew Ogbeche who has joined Mumbai City FC this season.

Team: Mumbai City FC

Signing amount: Rs. 6.66 cr.

Mumbai City FC signed striker Adam le Fondre on a season-long loan from A-League side Sydney FC for the 2020-21 ISL season
In 14 seasons in English football, Le Fondre scored 183 goals and made 44 assists in 532 appearances.
In 2018, he moved abroad for the first time to A-League’s Sydney FC.
He enjoyed tremendous success in Australia, leading Sydney to two Grand Final wins and one Premiers in two seasons, netting 45 goals and 4 assists in 67 appearances.

  1. Idrissa Sylla

Team: Northeast United FC

Signing amount: Rs.6.66 cr.

Northeast United FC signed Idrissa Sylla for the 2020-21 ISL season.
Idrissa joined the Highlanders from Zulte Waregem in the Belgian League.
In 2013, the striker signed for SV Zulte Waregem, before moving to Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht and playing for them in the UEFA Europa League group stage.


He also joined Championship side Queen Park Rangers in 2016 and was with the London outfit for three seasons. An active international for the Guinean National Team, Idrissa has netted 5 times for his country in 27 appearances

Team: Chennaiyin FC

Signing amount: Rs.6.66 cr.

Chennaiyin FC signed Esmael Goncalves, better known as Isma on a free transfer for the ISL 2020-21 season.
Isma has experience playing in UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and AFC Asian Champions League.
Isma has netted 75 goals in almost 250 career appearances
The 29-year-old Portuguese attacker is capable of playing anywhere across the forward line. At the international stage, Isma has represented the African country Guinea-Bissau

  1. Vicente Gomez

Team: Kerala Blasters

Signing amount: Rs.6.66 cr.

Kerala Blasters FC signed Spaniard Vicente Gomez for the 2020-21 ISL season.
He last played for Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna in the Segunda Division.He represented Las Palmas for eight seasons in a row before joining Deportivo in 2018. He had played in the La Liga from 2015 to 2018.

The Spanish midfielder has joined the kerala side on a multi-year deal that will see him remain with the club till the end of the 2022-23 season.
