Esports and mobile gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) hops in as principal sponsor for both Knight Riders Franchises – Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL) and Trinbago Knight Riders (CPL). The space for MPL was created after edutech giant Byju’s pulled out of the principal sponsorship deal for the same year.
The Caribbean Premier League is scheduled to start on August 18, 2020 with the finals to take place on September 10, 2020 which will feature 6 teams including the Trinbago Knight Riders. Whereas the IPL will begin on September 19, 2020 in the UAE and conclude on Nov 10, 2020.
This deal almost ensures mass visibility for MPL for almost 80 days.
